Happy Mothers Day/ happy birthday!!!

Mother's day always falls right around my birthday, so we decided to combine the celebrations a bit, and visit one of my favorite places in KC, but first to start the morning right with a nice pair of shoes... she's growing so fast she will really fit into my shoes soon enough!

We went to church early service, and then took my mom with us for the afternoon since my dad was stuck working. And then off to the Monet exhibit at the Nelson for a fun afternoon and brunch at the Rozelle Court Restaurant. They had a special activities for little ones that afternoon, so Emilia had a blast!

She was especially impressed with their dessert bar, while the adults ate our weight in their "fingerling" mashed potatoes... if you've never tried them, you should... they were AMAZING! Then as you will see below, "Dan" or "Ted" (depends on the day) joined us for brunch!. Chris's brother, Danny, brought her this bear when she was a baby in the hospital, and he goes pretty much anywhere with us now...

The scenery is absolutely gorgeous...

And then we went outside for some sun and more art.
They had this really fun area for the kids to paint their own version of Monet's famous painting, Waterlilies. I was reminded of Emilia's 1st introduction to Monet here when she was about 6 months old... I have to say she had a bit more appreciation when she tried to replicate his masterpiece!

Below are her and Chris with her own "version" of Monet's Waterlilies... I think we have a future artist on our hands. :) It was a lovely day and a great day to be a mom and enjoy what you love!

Graduation

So my graduation finally came on Cinco de Mayo, and two pretty little girls (Emilia and Lily) came with the two cutest signs my sister, Melissa, had helped them make...
and here are their signs up close (click to enlarge)...

The photographer of the ceremony will remain nameless (cough...cough) but we'll just say this was the clearest photo of the ceremony.... moving on :) ...
Below is a pic with a few of my clasmates and my instructor, Daphne, which just happens to be one of my coworkers at my new job!

Emilia is probably the most excited about me being done... and she'll be even happier when I am done studying for boards!

But I think my neices and nephews were just as excited to have something to celebrate!

More photos with family! I could not have gotten through the last 3 years with all the help from my friends and family... they have been such an amazing support and encouragement, and words cannot express how thankful I am to have them!

We ended the celebration at Tom Fooleries on the Plaza, which was me and Heather's favorite college hang out many years ago! We shared a steak for old times sake, and finished the night with the yummy cake my mom brought and a twinkie with a sparkler on top (of course!:))

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to say Congratulations on a job well done....As you all may know, Elizabeth graduated from school yesterday and I am SO proud of her.  She has done a fantastic job these last few years doing homework, clinicals, studying, being a wife, and most importantly being an awesome mother to Emilia.  I am sure she will post some pictures of the event soon, but I am not sure how great they turned out b/c the normal photographer was on the stage graduating.  Once again, GREAT JOB and CONGRATULATIONS Elizabeth and I love you so much!!
