Happy 6th birthday G!

Today was Garrett's 6th birthday and costume theme party. I wasn't informed about the costume part until about 30 minutes before the party, so we threw together a makeshift ballerina costume, and Emilia could not have been more pleased with the results. Hard to believe he is already 6 years old! As tempting as it was to get the noisy jackhammer that matches the chainsaw I already bought him... I resisted and instead got him the terminator arm that detaches when you punch something. I heard Melissa mutter something about payback, but whatever, G thought it was cool!

Hudson saying, "Aunt Beth, you're no match for me... I'm Batman!"

To infinity and beyond!
Notice he is looking at himself in the window reflection!

Emilia met a princess

Last night was the first time Emilia has been to a wedding, and she thinks she met a real princess! My friend Jen’s little brother Chris got married, which seems impossible since I have known him since he was 5… I feel old! Anyways, I had debated back and forth on whether or not to take her, but am so glad we did. She had the BEST time and was so sweet and quiet during the ceremony. Of course this is the girl who sits through a lengthy Southern Baptist church service every Sunday, so I am not sure why I even worried! The bride, Christine, looked absolutely beautiful and Chris looked so grown up from the little kid I used to pick on! Hard to believe I have known this family for 21 years… and we lived around the corner from each other for 15 of those years! The ceremony was lovely and the reception was at a little art gallery downtown. I actually did not take that many photos, but here are a few I do have and also a video of my dancing queen! (you will have to turn the playlist off to hear the rap music she is dancing to! :))

These were the vases I used in my wedding and I think this was the 10th wedding they have been in!

For the $20 dance ( I forgot to bring smaller bills:), Emilia danced with Christine and I danced with Chris. Chris and I spent our dance laughing at Christine and Emilia, because Emilia wouldn't let anyone cut in!

I think Emilia got at least one dance from every one present at the wedding! :)

fall picnic

We had a hot chocolate and apple cider picnic because it was an absolutely beautiful fall afternoon… did I mention this is my favorite time of year? Emilia pretended to make them in her drive thru “Starbucks,” and then we walked through the neighborhood collecting the prettiest fall leaves…. Now what to do with them!

Yummy!

Quite the little barista!

Happy Birthday Lily

We thought it would be fun to go to T Rex cafe for lunch the day of Lily's birthday... I am not sure fun was what was running through her mind in this photo when the dinosours started "burping" as Emilia called it...

Where as my daughter thought it was funny to pretend the dinosour was eating her for lunch!

I think we can tell who will be the class clown... at least she has fun, though! Markus met us there for lunch, then Melissa and I went shopping while the girls napped in their strollers... yes our 3 year olds still nap in strollers! I love it!

I wasn't able to go to Lily's party since it was planned on a Saturday that both Heather and I worked ( I'm not bitter, much), but from these photos it does not look like I was missed. Lily got pink cowboy boots, a cowgirl hat, guitar, and feather boa...I'll bet Taylor Swift was quite jealous! :) Happy birthday, Lilybelle!

Science City

Today we went to Science City with Emilia’s best bud, Myles. They both had fun playing with all the different activities… especially watching the train in the front of Union Station. We went to Fritz’s for lunch, which was fun since we had not been there before. It is so cute to watch her developing her own friendships, and trying to compromise (or not) for a friend. She was absolutely exhausted by the end of it since she was napless for the day…

Pumpkin Patch

Today was the pumpkin patch with Emilia's preschool, and after signing away my life in blood, Heather allowed me to take her kiddos as well. What like I'm gonna lose them in the corn husk maze like you did last year? :) It was fun, minus the bees that were trying to eat our picnic lunch while I was fearing for an allergic reaction should they sting, meanwhile wondering why I don't carry my epi pen to places like these! Oh well...I love fall and I LOVE taking my neices and nephews places with me!

Apple Cider Fest

This is why I love fall... beautiful weather, fall festivals, apple cider, caramel apples, and apple cider doughnuts. Okay, there are a few more reasons than that, but you get the idea!

I took my nephew, Hudson, and some of the other family met us up there. We feasted on fudge, sparkling apple cider, doughnuts, and kettle corn pop corn... its a wonder we don't all weigh two thousand pounds!

Party in my driveway

Emilia and I were bored today, so decided to throw a fall party in the driveway since the weather was so nice. We invited our neighbors and Samantha over for hot apple cider and caramel apples and pumpkin painting and carving in the driveway. Emilia painted and I carved! She ended up quite messy, though, and did not get to enjoy the caramel apples until after her bath!

Emilia was quite repulsed at the feel of the inside of the pumpkin...
can't say I blame her!

My masterpiece... no scary pumpkins for us!

And let the painting begin... Samantha looks really excited!

Emilia's masterpiece

The inevitible mess from the lack of paintbrush use!

AHHH... what caramel is complete without pink sprinkles!
